poster of the open day

Following a fallow year in 2024, our Open Day is back this Saturday 6 September from 1pm. We will have on display pages from current projects Oiseaux de France and The Cuillin of Skye and both printing presses and Monotype machines will be running throughout the day. Peter Allen will be demonstrating the pochoir technique of which he is master, and lettercarver John Neilson (editor of Forum magazine) will be cutting into some Welsh slate. The Whittington Village Fete is no longer, so we are making up for this by providing a barbecue and cups of tea and cake. We have produced a poster for the event which is available here for those unable to attend.

“So; for my purposes a ‘workshop’ is a place in which small-scale, sometimes specialist, manufacture or service to manufacture is carried out; often with a shop-like availability of product or service by direct personal transaction.”
